چکیده

The J-decay properties ofground-state and iso-_ mer of l03In were investigated by means of --ray spec troscopy. The half-lives of l03*In and ,03mIn were deter mined to be 60 ± 1s and 34 ± 2 s. respectively. Out of 149 transitions ascribed to the decay of ,0-»In, 104 have been placed in a decay scheme including 55 excited states of ,03flCd. The main part of the resulting distribution of the Gamow-Teller strength B(GT) is associated with the feed ing of l03Cd levels at excitation energies around 3MeV. This observation can be interpreted as a sign ofdominant feeding of three-quasiparticle states in ,03Cd. which correspond to the l+0rg7/,. i/gTz-OC *&rshell-model configuration spread over manv levels. The sum ofthe B(GT) values deduced trom the present7-ray data amounts to 0.34. which provides alower limit to the total Gamow-Teller strength. The B(GT) distribu tion for ,03In decay is compared to the corresponding exper imental results for iw-""-«»In and l0 theoretical predictions for Wl0,ln. The latter were calculated by using an advanced spherical shell model. The J-branching ratio for the ""In decay is estimated and compared with the relevant values for the neighbouring indium isotopes including In whose haltlife was determined to be 14.9 ± 1-2 s. PACS: 2l.10.-k: 21.60.Cs; 23.40.Hc; 27.60.+J

We present some new results on heavy-element nuclear-structure properties calculated on the basis of the finite-range droplet model and folded-Yukawa single-particle potential. Specifically, we discuss calculations of nuclear ground-state masses and microscopic corrections, α-decay properties, β-decay properties, fission potential-energy surfaces, and spontaneous-fission half-lives. These resul...

Se p 19 99 Population of isomers in decay of giant dipole resonance

The value of an isomer ratio (IR) in N=81 isotones (137Ba, 139Ce, 141Nd and 143Sm) is studied by means of the (γ, n) reaction. This quantity measures a probability to populate the isomer state in respect to the ground state population. In (γ, n) reaction giant dipole resonance (GDR) is excited and after its decay by neutron emission the nucleus has an excitation energy of a few MeV. The forthco...

Investigation of the K p Ä 8 À isomer in 132

The decay of the K58 isomer in Ce with an excitation energy of 2340.2 keV has been investigated using the Sn(O,4n)Ce reaction. A half-life of 9.460.3 ms was determined. Two new decay paths have been found in the deexcitation of this isomer. The hindrance factors for the E1, M2, and E3 transitions deexciting the isomer have been determined. The decay properties of the 8 isomers in the N574 isoto...

Proton emission – new results and future prospects

Proton emission is the radioactive decay mode that is expected to determine the limit of observable proton-rich nuclei for most elements. Considerable progress has been made in the study of proton-emitting nuclei since the first observation of direct proton emission nearly 50 years ago. This has led to improvements in our understanding of this decay process and provided invaluable nuclear struc...

HIGH PRESSURE BEHAVIOR OF KCl: STRUCTURAL AND ELECTRONIC PROPERTIES

The high pressure behavior of the structural and electronic properties of KC1 is studied with use of the density functional pseudopotential method within local-density approximation. Atzero pressure, the rocksalt phase is found to be lower in energy than CsCl structure. However, we predict a phase transition into CsCI structure at a pressure of about 1.5 GPa. The calculated ground state pro...
